May is Healthy Vision and UV Awareness Month!

The video interview talks about how to protect your eyes so you don’t outlive your vision.  Spring has sprung and Dr. Warren Johnson and Melissa Moore of Eyewear Gallery were on News Channel 3 to explain how to keep your eyes healthy and protect your eyes year round from Ultraviolet Radiation.  Community education is key in helping people not outlive their vision and News Channel 3 with hosts MaryBeth Conley and Alex Coleman are helping us get the word out.  Clear vision doesn’t mean your eyes are healthy.  Eye exams, explanation about protection against skin and lid cancers, nutrition, children and UV protection in sunglasses and sight threatening occupational job safety hazard evaluations by your eye doctor can help give you information to protect your eyes and not outlive your vision!  Many people pickup sunglasses that have stickers that say UV protective which may not be protective and do more harm than good.  Seek out a professional.
