We all want to improve our vision. The following list shows some things that you can do to improvement and safeguard your eyesight.  We have all heard about various glasses, and contacts and eye exercises that improve your vision.  There is nothing like good nutrition and exercise! 

The 5 following points will give you some insight

1.       Vitamins (A, C and E)

At first, we should eat healthly. That means, that we must start to eat more vegetables and fruits which have plenty of vitamins A, C and E. You remember, how your parents tell to eat many carrots, to have perfect eyesight. And they were right. These vegetables like tomatoes, beans, peppers and peas are rich of vitamin A. In this Vitamin is retinol, which is very important for eyesight functions. Vitamins C and E is also important for eyesight. These also can be found in these vegetables, but perhaps the most we could found in broccoli. In one cup we will find more than 50% vitamin C of the daily requirement.  The fruit that has the most benefits for your eyes are blueberries.  Blueberries help you keep good eyesight. In World War II, before the flights, pilots were given blueberries, because these berries strengthen eyesight and it’s sharpness. But not only vegetables and fruits improve eyesight. Researches shows, that black chocolate can also improve your vision.  Chocolate improves blood circulation and increase blood flow to your central and peripheral vision.

  1. More time spend outdoors

Research is showing that being outdoors can help to your eyesight.  The reason is not entirely known but sunny days can be good for your eye health and make sure that kids and adults wear sunglasses whenever outdoors to protect against cataracts in the future.  

  1. Physical activity

Lack of physical activity is risky not only for your general health, but also for your eyesight. People, who don’t do any exercises, more often have some problems with their eyes, than people who regularly do exercises. As most of us know,  you should do some exercises at least 3-4 times per week. It will help not only your eyes, but also for your body.

4. Create suitable work place

Today, when we spend big part of the day at computer.  Make sure that lighting is good (light rays don’t fall to our eyes). Be sure, that you sit proper distance from the screen and finally take regular breaks away from your close work.

  1. Give up smoking

Smoking is very dangerous not only for your general health, but also for your eyesight. People who smoke are are 4 times more likely to have vision loss.  The loss of vision cause is usually from cataracts and/or macular degenertion.
